How to get to Poznań

Poznań is very well connected to other cities in Poland and Europe. You can get here by all popular means of transport. The city has an airport Poznań-Ławica (POZ), a railway and bus station. Poznań is located on the A2 motorway on the Warsaw-Berlin route.

    • AIRPLANE: You can check the flight network on the airport website. Slightly further airports from which you can reach by train or coach are Wrocław (WRO), Bydgoszcz (BZG), Łódź-Lublinek (LCJ), Warsaw-Chopin (WAW).
    • TRAIN: Poznań Główny station can be reached by PKP Intercity trains. Tickets can be purchased online at intercity.pl , in person at the train station (e.g. Warszawa Centralna), and in mobile applications (e.g. KOLEO , PKP Intercity ).
    • BUS: The most popular intercity bus is Flixbus. Tickets are competitively priced, but the journey takes longer than the train.
    • CAR: You can also come to Poznań by car. Pay attention to the parking zone in the city – depending on the location, a different price list applies. In the strict city center, you can also pay for parking on Saturdays. The price list is available on the website of the Municipal Roads Authority .

Local transport

    • PUBLIC TRANSPORT: There is public bus and tram transport in Poznań. General information about transport in Poznań and special announcements can be found on the website of the Public Transport Authority . The route is easily marked by both Google Maps and the popular Polish transport application JakDojade.pl. Tickets for public transport can be purchased from ticket machines at stops, in vehicles and in applications (e.g. jakdojade.pl, SkyCash, moBILET, GoPay, zBiletem).
    • TAXI: In addition to taxis at taxi ranks, you can use popular passenger transport applications such as Uber, Bolt, FreeNow.

Currency and payments

  • The currency in Poland is the Polish Zloty (PLN or zł). 1 PLN is approximately 0.24 €
  • In Poznań, as in most of Poland, debit and credit cards (including contactless) are widely accepted. There are many ATMs on the streets that allow you to withdraw cash. For practical reasons, we do not recommend carrying large amounts of cash.
  • Shops and markets are open from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, most retail outlets, especially the large ones, are closed. The most necessary products (drinks, snacks, ready meals to heat up at home) can be bought in Żabka chain stores (the Polish equivalent of 7-Eleven), they are available practically everywhere.
